Does it really work without internet?
Yes. The internet is only used to download models. After that, chat, writing and questions about your files all run on your device, including in airplane mode.
Which devices does it run on?
Android phones with at least 8 GB of memory.
Do I need an account?
No. Lanternai has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking.
Is it as capable as cloud AI?
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. The model is small enough to run on a phone, so it is best at everyday work: writing, summarizing, planning, simple code help, and answering questions from your own documents, where it can point to the source. For the latest news or very complex reasoning, cloud AI is still stronger.
How fast are the answers?
Answers appear word by word, so you can start reading straight away. A normal chat answer starts in about 6 seconds. When you add a document, Lanternai first reads it on your device, which takes one to two minutes. After that, most questions about it start within seconds, and the exact clauses (risks, notice periods, key points) appear instantly. Reading a photo takes about a minute. Speed depends on your device's processor.
